Many ex-smokers who at first did not work, but they still try. The first few days after quitting smoking is probably the days of the hardest. Show on yourself, your family, and others who you are. Life is very pleasant and very short to spend in bad habits that damage your health.

What you need to know?

  • More than 400,000 deaths in the United States each year because of smoking.
  • Smoking kills 120,000 people each year in the UK. Most are caused by disease and early death – on average smokers die 10 years sooner than nonsmokers.
  • Cigarettes contain over 4,000 chemicals, most dangerous, namely:
  1. Benzene – solvent used in fuel and chemical industries.
  2. Formalin – highly toxic, colorless liquid used to preserve dead bodies.
  3. Ammonia – chemicals found in cleaning fluids. Used in cigarettes to increase nicotine delivery.
  4. Hydrogen cyanide – poisonous gas used for industrial plastics, dyes, and pesticides. Often used for rat exterminator.
  5. Cadmium – a highly toxic metal as a battery maker.
  6. Acetone – a solvent that is in the nail color remover.
  7. Arsenic – a substance used to kill rats.

Three major components in cigarette smoke are:

1. Nicotine
Nicotine is absorbed into the blood and affects the brain in 10 seconds. If you smoke regularly, when levels of nicotine in the blood less, you usually have symptoms addiction, anxiety, fatigue, headache, irritability, hunger, difficulty concentrating, or feeling afraid. These symptoms will disappear with the next cigarette. So, most smokers need to smoke regularly to feel ‘normal’ and prevent the emergence of symptoms of addiction.

2. Carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas in car exhaust, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood. Oxygen is essential to body organs to function efficiently. Lack of oxygen caused permanent changes in the blood, making blood more dense so that the heart must work harder to pump blood around the body.

3. Tar
Tar contains many substances that have been proved cause of cancer. Materials irritation in tar damage the lungs, shrink the channel (bronkiolis), and destroy small hair (cilia) that protect the lungs from dirt and infection.
